2100 Greenwood live / work lofts are located in the former Maine Steel fabricating building. This building was a 40,000 square foot built in the early 50’s and was used for cold steel fabrication and included bare structural steel and a brick exterior. The building was designed by former students of renowned architect Miles van der Rohe. The entire superstructure of the building will be retained providing unique design elements rarely seen in new construction. The project is designed for adaptive reuse and we support the principals of Green and Sustainable Architecture. Many materials removed from the site are being recycled and some materials will be reused in this development including the steel superstructure of the original building.
The 27 unit Live/Work Lofts are ideal for families, singles or professionals and artists who want to live and work in the same space. Lofts are available in a variety of floor plans and sizes with units ranging from 980 sf to over 2700 sf. All rentalminiums feature volume ceilings with many units having 20 foot high ceilings.
All units have either private patios, second floor recessed terraces or Juliet balconies and some units have patios and terraces.
On site indoor heated parking is included. Units also feature a first floor laundry room and many units are 100% handicap accessible.
Finish materials will include granite countertops, stainless appliances, hardwood floors and a choice of cabinetry and tile.
The central focal point of the community is the heavily landscaped courtyard with exposed steel beams, brick walkways, unique lighting and private entrances in a sustainable architecture rental community.
